Farm Sunday 2025 is coming
Farm Sunday at West Middlewick
Sunday 8th June
- Taste free range raw milk and discover where food comes from
- New Hayloft Tea Shop opening on Farm Sunday
West Middlewick Farm, one of the few farms in the West Country selling raw cows’ milk, opens its gates to the public for farming’s annual open day on 8 June. From 10am to 3pm, Open Farm Sunday offers visitors the chance to see farming with nature at first hand, to discover where food comes from and to meet the people responsible – the farmers! So, make a date to visit West Middlewick Farm.
John Gibson, who has farmed all his life at West Middlewick Farm, said: “Farming is a unique way of life. On 8 June, come and join us, explore the nature, meet the animals and learn more about where your milk and other food comes from. This is a great opportunity for all the family to support British farming and local food. We’re looking forward to answering your questions about farming and showing you our milk, the animals and the work we do to look after the countryside.
Attractions include:
- Visit farmyard friends: pigs and piglets, donkeys, goats, British Friesian Cross Jersey cows, calves, the giant rabbit and guinea pigs
- Visit the milking parlour where the cows are milked twice a day – taste fresh raw milk
- Meet the experts: the farmer, the farrier who will be looking after the donkeys’ feet, the sheep shearer and the vet
- Take a nature walk with our wildlife expert and hear about the wild animals on the farm

Jo Gibson said: “On Farm Sunday we will be launching our brand new Hayloft Tea Shop offering fabulous cream teas with views to Exmoor. This is an important addition to our extended farm shop and for our local community.
“We are all looking forward to Farm Sunday – including the piglets who let’s face it are always the star attraction for the children!”
Throughout the day there will be guided tours of the milking parlour and to the river – a perfect way to discover all about British farming. Find out why the hedgerows are so important and how planting wildflowers encourages pollinators like bees and ladybirds. Talk to the beekeepers about West Middlewick Farm’s hives.
The machinery used on the farm every day as well as some vehicles from over the years will also be on display, and the Young farmers will host fun and games for all the family.
