Attractions and activities for the younger ones

Over the years, we’ve learned that generally the younger members of the family are never too keen to leave the farm, especially on the last day.. (Actually the adults aren’t that keen either). Anyway if you’re going to need to persuade them, here’s a few things that might help.

Wildlife & Dinosaur Park at Coombe Martin

Explore 26 acres of sub tropical paradise with beautiful gardens and cascading waterfalls. See 100s of exotic birds ad animals and the most realistic animatronic dinosaurs on the planet. With daily sealion shows, falconry dsiplays, lemur encounters and animal handling sessions – theres a lot see and do.

Quince Honey Farm – South Molton

A really popular attraction. The worlds largest exhibition of living honey bees. The farm has hives which open at a touch of a button to show the bees living and working inside, to help explain and demonstrate the complete honey production process.

Wild Badger Magic

This is great! Watch the antics of these secretive , fascinating creatures as they go about their nightly lives in the glorious Exe Valley. From the purpose built hide get a badgers eye view while listening to the live commentary. Special photography and childrens evenings available.

Saunton Sands

Nice sandy beach, backed with dunes, and generally not one of the busiest beaches. Shops selling surf equipment, take away hot & cold food and Cafe Bar. Good beach for swimmers, sunbathers and surfers alike.

Croyde beach

Popular with surfers this is a really nice sandy beach backed by dunes in the village of Croyde. Blue flag beach with lifeguards during the summer season. Surf and watersports equipment hire available. Close by are numerous pubs and restaurants and shops.

Diggerland is a unique adventure park where children and adults can drive real diggers and so much more.

Horseriding at Rose & Crown Stables

Estbalished 40 years ago. Horse riding for groups, parties or private lessons. Holiday groups welcome for hacking through beautiful countryside. All ages and abilities welcome. The fastest way to slow down! Available for public trips or private hire the horse drawn trips are a real pleasure and a little bit of a slower pace if you’re not up for the rides at Crealy! (see above) Meet the horses and crew who work the canal and the barge, or if you prefer to do the work yourself, you can hire a rowing or day boat instead.

The Tarka Line

This is a beautful way to discover deepest Devon by rail. The train which travels between Exeter and Barnstaple is a great day out and very popular. For train times call 08457 484950
